A DIFFICULTY.

Last week tho truckers employed in the upper workings of tho GreymouthPoint Elizabeth Company’s mine, known as tho Coolgardie workings, struck for more pay. They are paid from 5s to Gs per day. Several men were asked to do the work of the strikers, hut refused. The strike, being only amongst tho truckers, will not materially affect the output of coal. The Managing Director of the GreyinouthPoint Elizabeth Coal Company has received a telegram from Mr Bishop, mine manager, stating that there was a slight difficulty with truckers, but had not caused an interruption of work at the mine. It is explained that the truckers are mostly lads, which accounts for tho small wages of 5s and Gs per day. Work in the Brunner mine, where tho accident occurred, has been resumed.
