CORRESPONDENCE.

TO THE EDITOR. Si ft, —In the report of the meeting of the City Council in this morning's paper I see tho Council have allowed the Garrison Band to take up a collection in the Basin Reserve next Sunday afternoon for the *' Old Men's Home." Can you tell me if there is sneh a Home in Wellington ? I knew of the Home for tho Aged Needy, Adelaide road, supported by voluntary contributions, and the Benevolent Home, Ohiro, kept by i.he rates I and others have to pay. Now, in both these Homes there are women as well as men. I sometimes see all three names mentioned, the Home for the Aged Needy, the Benevolent Home and the Old Men's Home, but I only know of the two first. If it is the Old Men's Home stands for either of the two, I think the gentlemen who have to do witli each of these homes should make it clear which should claim the title of the Old Men's Home. These homes are, I am given to understand, quite distinct the one from the other, one being supported by the rates and tho other by voluntary contributions. Apologising for trespassing on your space,—lam, &c, Curious. January 31.
