A "social" and dance promoted by the ladies of Johnsonville on behalf of the funds for the proposed new shed for the Johnsonville Cricket Club was well attended, and was highly successful. Misses E. Bould, C. Braid, A. Better and Mrs H. Bowler, assisted by several other ladies, formed the committee. During the evening several songs, recitations and hornpipes were given. Messrs C. Bould James Moore, K. Retter and C. Better were encored for their songs, as was Messrs F Bould and McFarlane for their recitations" and hornpipes. Misses P. May, E. Braid and E. Bould presided at the piano, Mr C. Bould accompanying with the violin. M.Atkinson acted as M.C. The supply of refreshments was ample, and of excellent quality.
