THE HON MR CADMAN.

Thames. January IG. At a largely-attended meeting of leading citizens this afternoon, it was decided to tender the Hon A. J. Cadinan, Minister of Mines, a complimentary banquet on the occasion of his visit to the Thames early next week. The proceedings were most enthusiastic, and several speakers referred in flattering terms to the able and zealous manner in which Mr Cadman had laboured to promote the best interests of the raining industry throughout the Colony. A committee consisting of the Mayor (Mr Radford), Messrs Greenslade, Bruce, Dunlop, Smith, Quinn, Burch, Clark and Coutts was appointed to make the necessary arrangements. The banquet promises to be a great success. Mr Cadman arrived at Coromandel this evening, and will reach the Thames about Monday next. Mr Cadman addresses his constituents at Huntly on the 2Sth inst.
