GOLF.
The Wellington Golf Club has been presented with a numbers of prizes for competition. Mr J. H. Jack has presented the club with a " putter," to be competed for next Saturday by those gentlemen members who have never been members of another club. The entries for this competition close on Friday. Miss Duncan has presented a prize to be competed for by the lady members of the club, and this competition will take place on August 12th. Mr Wardrop has given two prizes for handicap mixed foursomes, the competitions for which will take place on Saturday, August 17th. Mr W. Cooke Daniels has promised a challenge cup for competition among the gentlemen members.
