Sydney, June 23
As a result of exhaustive experiments, the Broken Hill Proprietary Company intend to erect immediately a concentrating sulphide dressing plant, capable of treating 1400 tons of sulphides weekly. Experiments have shown that it is possible to save 85 per cent, of lead and over 60 per cent, of silver.
Perth, June 25
The workings at the Londonderry mine are 10ft into the reef, and the rich shoot still continues. The last 3ft shows enormously rich stone.
Reefton, June 22
The following returns are announced : Cock Sparrow Dredge, 380 oz amalgam for 133 hours" dredging; Buller Dredge, 350 z gold for 112 hours' (stopped temporarily for coal) ; Big River, 168 oz amalgam froin 120 tons, top plates ; Hercules, 107 oz amalgam from 186 tons, top plates; Progress, 185 oz amalgam from 215 tons, top plates; Keep-it-Dark, 91oz amalgam from 60 tons, top plates ; Cumberland, 2320 z from 110 tons (clean up).
Westport, June 22
The coal export for the week ended today is 5026 tons, made up as follows : Westport Coal Company, 4295 tons ; West-port-Cardiff, 430 tons; Mokihinui, 301 tons.
