COURSING.

Dunedin, May 10. Though the Weather was again bad in the morning, it cleared up at midday, and the first coursing meeting of the season, was brought to a close. The fourth round of the Challenge Stakes was narrowed down to Shylock, the Auckland dog, and three Australians and in the final Shylock, the winner of last year’s stakes, again won. Challenge Stakes, for 58 all-aged dogs at <£s each. Winner, .£l5O, also gold medal presented by Mr E. Hogg ; runner-up, 4260 ; two dogs, <£2o each; four dogs <£lo each ; seven dogs, <£s each. Mr J. Graham’s brdd Shylock, by Padlock—Spruce, heat Messrs Kelly and McGillicuddy’s blk w d Goldsmith, by Hedley—Sonnet, and won the stake. The Australian dog Bloomer won the Consolation, and another of the contingent, Clements Tonic, divided the Eight-dog Stake with Prefix.
