The United Hunt Club held a run on Saturday, the hounds meeting at the Kilbirnie Hotel at 3 p.m., when a start was made for Messrs Crawford Bros.’ Miramar estate, where a most enjoyable run was partaken of. Spills were more numerous than usual, on account of the fences having been raised. Amongst those following were Miss Slcerrett on The Liar, Messrs D. G. A. Cooper (deputy-master) on Halicore, C. P. Skerrett on Lazy, F. Dyer on Swingback, Guy Johnston on Wildrose, J. F. Mills on Musketry, C. Bridson on Rangatira, 11. Woods on Langar, Dr Cahill on Kapiti, Mr Bennett, of Rangitikei, on Pink ’an, F. Rowe on Tito. Geo. McDonald (huntsman), on Judas, was in charge of the hounds, while Joe Hughes, on Sawdust, acted as whip, also Master Morris on a grey pony. The drag was laid by Mr F. H. Harley on foot from the back of the trotting course to the polo ground, where the hounds chocked, the distance being about two miles and a half, thence back to the Miramar Homestead, where Mrs H. D. Crawford provided refreshments for the riders and visitors.
