The following is the New Zealand Loan" and Mercantile Agency Company's report of the Addington market (telegraphed on the 20th to the Mail) :—-Fat cattle—About half the usual supply; demand limited ; prices about the same as last -week. Best ox beef, 20s ; cow and heifer, 16s to 18s per 1001 b. Store cattle —Poor entry; little business done. Dairy cows—Fairnumberpenned,some being of a good kind; demand slightly better. Store sheep —A very heavy yarding, including some good lines, but owing to the continued dry weather prices suffered a further fall of fully Is per head on last week's prices. Lambs, selling from Is 6d to 5s Id; two-tooth crossbreds, 3a 9d to 7s; young crossbred ewes, from 5s 3d to 7s 7d ; full-mouth and aged, Is 6d to 3s 3dFat lambs—Another heavy supply met a very dragging market, with a fall of Is to Is 6a per head from last week's prices, ordinary making 4s 6d to 6s 9d; freezers and prime, 7s 6d to 10s 3d. Fat sheep—A full market; competition very dull, with a drop of fully Is per head. Crossbred .ewes, 4s to 7s sd; mixed crossbreds, 6s 6d to 8s 6d ; wethers, 7s 3d to 9s 9d. Pigs—A fair yarding; better demand. Prices about the same. Freeman B>. Jackson and Co.'s Wanganui stock report (telegraphed on the 21st) is as follows : —The general opinion expressed at our sale yesterday was that prices for sheep were firmer and better. In this we concur. Cattle are without quotable change, except good store bullocks, which are better worth. Pigs were not quite so firm. Cattle—AtWaveriey: Good bullocks, .£4 to £5 ; steers, £2 6s ; heifers, £2 to ..£3 os6d; calves, 15s"; yearlings, 275. At Wanganui : Store steers, 5s 6d to £3 16s; fat cows, £3 to .£3 18s ; milch cows,*.£3 5s to £5; young steers, £2 ; yearlings, 31s; weaners, 18s to 19s ; calves, 9s. Sheep —At Waverley : Store wethers, 6s to 7s 3d ; ewes, 3s 9d to 7s 9d ; mixed sheep, 4s 6d. At Wanganui : Fat ewes, 6s to 7s ; wethers, 8s ; wethers and ewes, two-tooth, 6s 7d ; fullmouth ewes, 4s 7d; lambs in wool, 4s; shorn, 3s ; culls, 2s 6d. A pen of Shropshire Down ewes made 15s; a pen of pure-bred Lincoln ewes, bred by Mr E. Hair, made 21s. Pigs— Baconers, 25s to 30s ; good pork, 16s to 21s ; smaller sorts, 7s 6d to 8s 6d ; young pigs, 3s to ss.

Laert and Co., Limited, report for the past week as under : —Wheat—Reports from the South indicate an improved demand at advanced prices. We quote ; —Prime milling, 2s 7d ; medium to good, 2a 5d to 2s 6d, f.o.b. Southern ports; whole, fowl wheat, 2s Bd, ex stores. Oats.—-The position of the market as regards prices shows little or no alteration. We quote:—Prime short oats, Is 7d jbo Is 9d; stout feed, Is 6d to Is 7d; Danish, Is 6d ; duns, Is 9d to Is lQd. Barley —Supplies throughout the Colony appear to be largely in excess of requirements, and values generally show a decline. Choice bright lines meet with moderate sale, but other descriptions are neglected. We quote : Best malting, 3s 6d to 3s 9d; medium to good, 2s9dto 3s 3d. Maize —Without alteration. The demand is steady at 2s 7d to 2s 8d per bushel. Pollard—Good demand at 85s per ton. Chaff—Large quantities are offering, and we see no prospect of any improvement on the values now current—in fact, indications are not wanting that even lower rates will have to be accepted. We quote:—Prime, bright, heavy new season's, 57s 6d to 62s 6d ; medium to good, 47s 6d to 555; choice old season's, 65s per ton. Cocksfoot—Market
