BERTHAGE AT THE WELLINGTON WHARVES.

On completion of the contract for the extension of the Queen’s Wharf at the end of July next, which will provide 600 ft of additional berthage, the Harbour Board will have the following ocean berths:— Queen’s Wharf, outer tee —Berth No. 3, south, 490 ft (length of s.s. Gothic), with 29ft of water; berth No. 1, north, 396 ft, with 26ft of water j berth No. 2,496 ft, with 29ft of water. Queen’s Whari, middle tee —Berth No. 4,520 ft, with 29ft of water; berth No. 0,520 ft, with 23ft of water; Jervois quay, berth No. 14, 465 ft, with 23ft of water (with 40-ton crane in it* centre) ; Railway Wharf berth, 400 ft, with 23ft of water. Berth No. 3, outer tee north, will also be lengthened to 333 ft, and having a depth of 22ft will be available for the largest type of inter-colonial steamer,*.
