BETHUNE AND CO.’S PROPERTY SALE.
There was an unusually large attendance at Messrs J. H. Bethune and Co.’s land sale, held at their auction mart, Featherston street, on Monday, when they submitted a number of city and country freehold proper ties on account of the estate of the late Mr W. H. Levin. The result of the sale was as follows : —Township of Creswick," four allotments, containing la -St :16p, fronting Creswick terrace, sold to Mr E. Platt for ; £4O; allotment No. 47, 2r 9p, Mr E. Platt, £10; four allotments, 3r 36p, W. Drysdalej £4O; seven allotments, 3 acres, "Mr-'vE. Platt, £3O; eight allotments, 10a 2r 2p, Mr J. McKenzie, £107; interest Of the vendors in three allotments, la lr 30p, Mi* J. McKenzie, £ls. Eleven allotments containing over 3 acres fionting Sydenham road were withdrawn at the reserve price of £9O, and a block of 16 allotments comprising 4a 3r lip at £146. A quarter-acre section in the town of Halcombe was sold to Mr J. G. Pascoe at £5 ; three suburban sections in the Manchester block, containing 23a 3f 30p, being passed in at £l6B. Mr Coleman Phillips became the purchaser of three town sections, Featherston, at £IOO, and Mr Wm, Toogood secured corner section No. 254,Featherston, at £42. Part of section No. 1, Fakuratahi, containing 156 a lr2op, brought £157; • Mr Henry Phillips being the purchaser. Freehold section No. 430, Belmont, containing 157£ acres, sold on account of the estate of the late Mr W. S. Bell, was bought by Mr W. J. Haines as agent for Mr T. Lambert at £236 ss. The Lowry Bay estate, containing 543 acres freehold land, was submitted in one lot, but was withdrawn, the reserve price of £2982 not being* reached. Town Acre No. 1034, Bussell terrace, was withdrawn at £SOO, and a block of 211 acres freehold land, Akatarawa, at £150; two town acres, Stanley street, were also passed . The unsold properties are in the hands of the auctioneers for private sale, some of them being already under offer to probable buyers.
