Trial Plurdles, of 25 sovs; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes. Distanee, one mile and a distance ; weight not less than lOst; for horses that have never won any hurdle race. Entrance, 20s; post entry. To start at 1.30. 4. Sandon Handicap, of 70 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs from stakes. Diste ce, one mile and a half. Nomination, 30s ; acceptance, 40s. To start at 2.40. 5. Electric Handicap, of 25 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes. Distance, four furlongs. Nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 15s. To start at 3.15. 6. Tramway Handicap, of 30 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes. Distance, one mile. Nomination, .15s; acceptance, 15s. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. Definition of a hack.—-A hack means a horse that has never won an advertised race to the net value of over 40 sovs (hack and hunters’ races excepted). 2. Nominations and Acceptances (iff proper form) must be accompanied by the necessary fee, otherwise they will be rejected. If Nominations or Acceptances are telegraphed, the fees must be forwarded by first mail thereafter. This rule will be strictly enforced. 3. Nominations must state name, age, colour, pedigree, and past performances where not known to the handicapper, and colours to be worn by the rider. 4. The winner of any advertised race, after the declaration of w.eights, to the net value of 30 sovs, to carry a penalty of 51b in the Sandon Handicap. The winner of any advertised race, after declaration of weights, to the net value of 30 sovs, to carry a penalty of 71b in the Flying Stakes Handicap and 51b in the Tramway Handicap. 5. All races to be run under the “ Rules of Racing.” as adopted by the Metropolitan Clubs in New Zealand. HAWKE’S BAY JOCKEY CLUB. AUTUMN MEETING, 19th and 20th MARCH, 1895. THE undersigned is authorised to receive money for investment at the Autumn Meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club. Instructions must be accompanied by Bank Drafts, Post Office Orders, Postal Notes, or Money Order Telegrams. To avoid confusion money for investment should be to hand the day prior to the meeting. A meeting of the stewards of the Wairarapa Racing Club was held at the Empire Hotel, Featherston, on Saturday afternoon. There were present—Messrs W. E. Bidwill (chairman), C. R. Bidwill, W. J.«> Nix, J. S. Cundy, F. Pearce, J. P. Russell, G. Tully, H. Morrison, R. Bright and W. O. Williams. The treasurer’s statement* showed a credit balance of .£lOl 17s 3d. Accounts amounting to <£36 14s 3d were passed for payment. Messrs Bright and Morrison exhibited the model of a starting machine which they have patented, and which they are going to give a public exhibition of at Opaki. Everyone seemed pleased with the model for its simplicity, durability and cheapness.
