The late Marshal Canrobert will be accorded a State funeral on Saturday. Tho Cabinet recommends that the sum of .£BOO be spent in expenses. General Zurlindon, tho new Minister for War, will deliver the funeral oration. Paris, February 1.
The Chamber of Deputies has voted M. Canrobert a public funeral, {iftor some stormy scenos, many mombora attacking him owing to his connection with tho Empire and the surrendor of Metz. The Socialists hooted him as a Bonapartist. Tho motion was carried, however, by 136 votes, the majority contending that ho acted under Marshal Bazaino at Motz. Paris, February 3.

Mdme Joniaux has been sentenced to death for poisoning a number of her relatives. Brussels, February 4. The trial of Madame Joniaux occupied 21 days. On tho Judge pronouncing sentence of death, tho unfortunate woman fainted. Tho sentence was greeted with frantic joy, and cries of “Lynch her,” and the prisoner was jeored as she was conducted back to tho cells. Brussels, February 5. Madame Joniaux appeals against the sentence of death passed upon her.
