I Freeman R. Jackson and Co.’s JohnI sonville stock report (telegraphed on January 30th) is as follows : —The cattle entered for the day’s sale were of fairly good quality, the cows being prime. Sheep were in good supply, chiefly stores. Pigs were good saleable sorts, and sold at last sal-e rates. Bullocks, <£7 5s to <£7 10s ; light bullocks, .£6 15s to <£7 ; cows, <£s 7s 6d to .£6 7s, equal to 18s per 1001 b, and 17s for cows. Sheep—Wethers, 9s Gd ; owes, 7s; store ewes, 4s ; old ewes, Is 8d to 2s ; fat lambs, 6s to 7s ; stoi*es, 3s to ss. Pigs—Baconers, 32s to 355; porkers, 18s to 25s ; small pigs, 11s to 16s. The following is the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Aq-ency Company’s report of the Addington market (telegraphed on the 30 th January) : Fat cattle —Average supply and fair competition. Prime, 20s to 21s ; beef, 17s to 18s Gd per 1001 b. Store cattle —20 yarded, demand slack, and values slightly easier. Dairy cows met with good competition ; prices, £7 to .£8 10s for best sorts. Fat lambs —A yarding of 1100 ; fair demand for those fit for export; oihers neglected, prime bringing 10s to 11s 9d, inferior 6s to 8s 6d. Fat sheep—4loo penned, competition slack all through, and values low. Prime crossbred wethers, 11s to 12s 6d ; do. ewes, 7sto 10sGd; merino wethers, 6s toßs. Store sheep—37oo yarded ; demand dull. Twotooth crossbreds, 7s to 10s ; crossbred lambs, 4s Gd to 6s for. fair sorts. Pigs— Average entry ; demand for baconers good at 3|d per lb; stores dull of sale.

Matthew Henry reports : —A very fair entry of both sheep and cattle came forward on Wednesday, the former composed of useful 2-tooth and oid ewes. The demand, however, was lifeless, and but little business was done at quotations : —Cattle, 18 to 20-month- steers, £2 2s Gd; 18-month heifers, £2los ; yearlings, £2 Is.

At Hull tbe prices of frozen meat are abnormal, owing to the railways being blocked with snow. THE WOOL MARKET. The following London, cablegram has been received by tbe New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company : —Wool —Since the opening of the sales, scoured merino medium and inferior, and medium' greasy crossbred, are par to £d per lb lower ; other desci-iptions unchanged. The American demand is good. Seedy and burry wools are neglected. There is much irregularity in the bidding.
