THE OFFICIAL CALENDAR or THF WELLINGTON RACING CLUB. THE New Zealand Mail has been appointed the Official Calendar for the publication of all programmes in the District of We’dington, in terms of Buie 17 of the Buies of Racing. Buie 17 reads:—“ The programme of each meeting in which the added money is £IOO or upwards must be advertised in full once at least in the Official Calendar. The advertisement shall show that the programme has boen approved by the Jockey Club, shall state the days on which the meeting is to begin and end, and the names of the stewards, judge, starter, clerk of the scales and handicapper.” All notifications for the future published in • this column are so published under the authority of the Wellington Bacing Club, and are binding on country clubs and others, who must therefore duly note the same. • / . . LICENSES. . Trainers, Jockeys, and Apprentices are reminded that their licenses expire on the 31st July, and their attention is directed to the Rule 167 a of the Rules of Racing-, •which is as follows: Rule 167 a. 1. The Metropolitan Jockey Clubs shall > v issue annual licenses to trainers, jockeys and apprentices. Only holders of such licenses shall be qualified to train or ride under the “ Rules of Racing,” except that an apprentice may for one month after the date of his first mount in public ride races without holding a license. “ Apprentice ” shall mean any lad employed in a training stable who has not previously ridden in public. 2. The fee payable for a trainer’s license shall be two pounds, for a jockey’s license one pound, and for an apprentice’s license ten shillings. 3. On application for a license the applicant shall forward to the Secretary of the Metropolitan Club of the district in which he resides the necessary fee, together with his full name and address. Such application shall be dealt with by the Committee as they may deem fit. The Committee may also suspend or cancel any license, and any person whose license has been withdrawn or suspended on the ground of misconduct, or of the infringement of the “ Rules of Racing,” shall not fee allowed in any weighing-room, stand, or enclosure during the time his suspension is in force. 4. All licenses issued shall bo immediately published in the “ Official Calendar.” 5. All licenses shall expiro on the 31st July in each year. 6.
