The Government have accepted the following tenders for supplies of coal during the current year to the Government railways : —Kaipara-Waikato Railway, Taupiri Extended Coal Company; Kaihu Railway, J. J. Craig, Auckland; Napier, Grey Yalley Coal Company and Westport--1 Cardiff Coal Company ; Foxton, Wanganui f and New Plymouth, Grey Valley Coal Company; Wellington, Black Ball Coal Company, Grey Valley Coal Company and Westport-Cardiff Coal Company; Picton, Grey Valley Coal Company ; Westport, | Westport Coal Company; Greymouth, Grey Valley Coal Company; Lyttelton, Black Ball Coal Company, Grey Valley Coal Company and Westport-Cardiff Coal Company; Malvern, Leeming and Co.; Timaru and Oamaru, Grey Valley Coal Company; Palmerston South, Allendale Coal Company and Shag Point Coal Company ; Dunedin, Kaitangata Coal Company; Southland,. Nightcaps Coal Company and Hokonui Coal Company.
