THE PURCHASE OF NATIVE LANDS.
The Government expect to complete very soon the purchase of the RotomahanaParakarangi Block in the Hot Lakes District. It comprises about 167,000 acres, and includes the famous Tikitapu Lake, besides several other lakes of lesser note. The price will not exceed an average of 3s per acre. There are close upon 3000 Natives interested in the block. Mr R. J. Gill, Land Purchase Officer, is carrying on the negotiations for the purchase.
