Rome, December 13. The Italian Government has dismissed several Magistrates for failing to execute the law in connection with the Banca Romana scandal. Rome, November 14. The Committee of the Chamber of Deputies has advised that most of the documents relating to the Banca Romana scandal be published, and that some referring to Signor Crispi’s private affairs be suppressed. “The Chamber has adopted the report. It is generally thought that the Premier’s action in producing the documents was unjustifiable. . Rome, December 17.

Parliament has been prorogued. Replying to the charges brought against him of complicity in ’ the Banca Romana scandal, Signor Crispi declared that Signor Giolitti forged the documents which were under consideration by the Committee of the Chamber of Deputies. Signor Giolitti has suddenly left Italy. The police have been shadowing him since .he left the country. He became Premiei in May, 1892, when lie had been in Parliament only 10 years, and in 1893, when he resigned owing to an unexpected defeat of hi 3 Ministry, the King refused to accept his resignation, and he resumed the reins of office, but could not long retain them. His marked abilities showed themselves in his course as a student at college, where he gained his degree as doctor Of law at the age of 22. In the Italian Parliament Giolitti was the leader of the Piedmontese group of the Left, Centre. Tlie banking scandals formed the topic of many excited debates in the Chamber of Deputies in 1893, and the Opposition pressed strongly for a Parliamentary committee of enquiry, which Giolitti resolutely refused. Enquiry came, notwithstanding, and with it has come his downfall.'
