A strong force of men are now engaged, under the supervision of Mr Lawson, repairing the Aorangi railway bridge. Piles are being driven with a view of re-erecting the two spans that fell. The rails will be laid as soon as possible after stringers are in place, and the engineer hopes to have the work so far advanced as to allow traffic to pass over it in about seven days. The iron and woodwork now lying in the bed of the stream will be used for repairing the bridge, but the piles for tfye new pier will be or iron.— AdvocaU,
