LOAN AND MERCANTILE COMPANY.
London, June 8. It is improbable that any action will be taken against the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's late directors in connection with the payment of dividends out of capital. Auckland, June 9. The general manager for New Zealand of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company reports:—The response of the New Zealand shareholders to the call has largely exceeded expectations, the payments being considerably greater than the amount required to ensure the success of the scheme of reconstruction. Advice has also been received from Australia that a similar result has been attained there. It may therefore be anticipated that in a few days the Loan Company will resume its usual business.
