CYCLING.
Napier, April 23. James E. Cowell, captain of the Wanderers' Bicycle Club, to-day lowered the New Zealand record for three miles, doing the distance, assisted by three pacemakers, in 7 minutes 54 3-ssec, one second and four-fifths under tho record of Crow, of Dunedin. What wind there was was against Cowell.
