A BUSINESS OPENING.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Having read your report on roughing it by the first bush felling party at Pemberton, I may inform you that Pember* ton is 20 miles from Birmingham, where you say that bush-fellers will have to draw their supplies from, and as I am a settler in that district and know all the ins and outs of the locality, I would like to point out what a grand chanoe there is for any enterprising man to open a general store in Pemberton township, as it is one of the finest districts in the North Island. There is a good road to Rangiwahia, which is the oorrect name for Pemberton. The site for the town is beautifully situated, being a natural clearing and perfectly fiat, and at present the buildings oonsist of a few Bmall houses and a first-class hotel. The latter, which is newly built and excellently furnished, is conduoted In a capital manner by a Mr Dickson, whose bountiful table is a great boon to hungry travellers. There are hundreds of settlers in this district, also hundreds of bushfellors, and yofc we have no one enterprising enough to start a store and bakery. One would, think that some of tho Wellington people (where competition is so keen) would make a td&i of this place, .where fchoy could get protty well their own price for anything,—l am, &c, Seller,
