Mr Thomas Emerson, stationmaster at tho Waireka Junction, has, he says, discovered a method by which the rabbit pest can be subdued in the Colony in five years. Ho wishes Lie system to bs tried by the various colonial Governments, and if it is successful he thinks that he should be assured of an adequate reward. If it is not a success he asks for nothing. An offer, it ia believed, will be ma4o to the various Governments on these conditions, Mr Emerson refuses to reveal hia system, but wishes to work if him .elf.
