The yearly allowance granted to the late Kine William 111- of the Netherlands, amounted to 600,000 guilders (£50,000). This sum, aa transpired after His Majesty's decease, was anonymously spent in charities, the whole ot the vast amount being distributed, year after year, amongst various philanthropio institutions, which will, no doubt, deeply deplore his loss.
