THE GERMAN SQUADRON.

The new officers for the Squadron, who have arrived at Sydney from Germany, will come on to Wellington by the Tekapo. The officers who are being relieved will leave for Germany by the next San Francisco mail steamer.

Gn Sunday the steamers Mana and Torea plied between the Wharf and the vessels of the Squadron. A very large number of people took advantage of the opportunity to visit the warships, and both steamers were crowded on eaoh of their trips. The officers of the German Squadron were entertain- d at a ball at the Wellington Club on Monday night. His Excellency the Governor waß among the guests. The German Squadron left their moorings on Friday morning about 8 o’clock, and the vessels spent several hours manoeuvring off Lowry Bay, Soames Island, Kaiwarra, Pitone, and Point Halswell, returning to their anohorage about 4 o’clock.
