IN MEMORIAM.
(per press association.) Invercargill, June 27. A monument erected to commemorate the publio services of the late Hon J. A. R. Menzies, the first superintendent of Southland, and for 30 years member of the Legislative Council, was unveiled to-day in the eastern cemetery by Mr Mitohell, Mayor of Invercargill. The memorial takes the form of an obelisk of Ipolished Ruapuka granite about 20 feet high. It was erected by publio subscription.
