SULLIVAN, ALIAS CLAMPETT.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Christchurch, June 30. Considerable interest is manifested here over the expected return of Sullivan, alias Clampett. The following letter appeared in to-night’s Star:—«To the editor. Sir— On behalf of the syndicate who intend supporting Mr Clampett, 1 may state that it will be only on purely secular, lines. I am, etc., Thomas W. Plaieted.” A letter from Sullivan to a lady in the Colony is published. In It be expresses peniteuce for his 11 fall,” and says he must have been drank when he had that interview with an Auckland Star reporter, to whom he admitted being * ! a big fraud,’’ as he does not remember anything about
