INFLUENZA.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Vienna, January 8. Half the population of the city are prostrated by influenza. London, January 8. Sixteen hundred postmen are laid aside by the epidemic, and their places have been filled by boys. Much delay is consequently experienced in the delivery of maiis. Many of the police and tramway employes are also suffering from the disease, which, however, has not assumed a severe type in England, January 9. The influenza, epideinie has now spread to the Government offices, public institutions, clubs, banks, schools, and barracks. The death rate is increasing. Few of the provincial towns remain unaffected. Marseilles, January 9. The death rate from influenza has now reached cholera height. Paris, January 9. The mortality from influenza is decreasing. London, January 11. Influenza is slowly abating throughout England and on the Continent. St Petersburg, January 11. The epidemic of influenza appears to have ceased here. London, January 12. The influenza is decreasing.
