(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. ) Christchurch, December 27. About 700 people attended the Pioneer Bicycle Club’s Meeting (firat day) at Lancaster Park yesterday. The following are the results of the principal events :—Halfmile Handicap—A. C. Wilmot, 1 ; M. Suckling, 2; W. J. Hayward, 3. Won on the tape. Time, lmin 19 3-sth sec. Three-mile Roadster Handicap—F. Fife (Timaru C.C.), 1; F. Truman (North Canterbury 8.C.), 2 ; J. Boyd (North Canterbury 8.C.), 3. Eighteen started. Won by a short length. Time, 9min 27 l-sth sec. One-milo Grand Australasia Test Race (first heat) —J. E. Fenlon (Australia), 1 ; C. R. Wilson (Pioneer (8.C.), 2 ; H. A. Soanes (Christchurch 8.C.), 3. These were the only starters. Won easily by a length aud a half. Time, 2mio 55sec, Second heat—E. Mayes (Australia), 1 ; N. Hall (Pioneer 8.C.), 2 ; A. C. Wilmot (North Canterbury B C.), 3. Five started. i Later. The Pioneer Bicycle Club second day’s racing was continued this afternoon. One thousand five hundred persons were present. One-mile Grand Australasian Test Race (final heat) —E. . Mayes (Australia), 1 ; J. E. Fenlon (Australia), 2; N. Hall (Pioneer), 3 ; G. R. Wilson (Pioneer), 4 ; H. A. Soanes,\ 5. A splendid race between the first four men. Soanes was outpaced from the start. In the spurt for the finish Mayes, who bad been lying third, got into firat position, and going right to the finish won by half a length from Fenlon, Hall two lengths behind the latter, Wilson close up. Time, 2min 47 2* sth sec. The positions by points are as follow : —Fenlon, 21 ; Mayes, 14 ; Hall, 13 ; Wilson, 5 ; Soanes, 4. Two-mile Roadster Handicap—H. Malthus (8.T.C.), 2Soyds, 1 ; C. Fyfe (Timaru), scratch, 2 ; E. C. Hall (Timaru), 10yds, 3. Won by eight yards. A close finish for second place. Time, 6min 7 4-sth sec. Twenty-two started for this event. A grand finish between Fenlon, Hall, and Wilmot. Hall led into the straight, followed by Fenlon, with Wilmot on the outside. Just at the finish Fenlon swerved and nearly went into Hall, and reached the tape about a wheel in front of him, Wilmot two lengths behind. Ten Mile Handicap Wilmot (Rangiora), scratch, 1 ; Hounsell ( elson), 270yds, 2 ; Soanes (Christchurch), scratch, 3. A grand race between the seven men left in at the finish. Fully 2000 people attended the Bicycle Races at Lancaster Park to-day. The principal events resulted as follows-: One-mile Grand Australasian Handicap (final heat).—N. Hall, scratch, 1 ; A. C. Wilmott, 15yds, 2; H. A. Soanes, 20yds, 3; C. R. Wilson, 20yds, 4; E. Mayes, 10yds, 5. Hayward, Suckling, Hounsell and McKay also ran. A grand race ensued, all the men being in a cluster during the last lap against the wind. In the final, Hall, who had been lying fourth, spurtpd up, aud 150yds from home took the lead, going at a great pace. Mayes held him a moment, then Wilmott went into second place, and all up the straight it was a slashing race. Hall led at the finish by half a dozen yards, Wilmott just beating Soanes ; both Wilson and Mayes very close up. Time, 2min 44 4*sth sec.

Five-mile Roadster Handicap. —O. R. , Wilson, 80yds, 1 ; F. Fyfe, 100yds (Timaru), 2 ; J. McDonald, 100yds (Timaru), 3 ; O. E. Hall, 150yds (Timaru), 4. Fifteen started. A fine race between the placed men. Wilson’s sprinting powers were too much for the others at the finish, though Fyfe pressed him the greater part of the way up the straight. He won by about two lengths, McDonald and Hall, close together, a dozen yards away. Time, 15min 43 3-sth sec. Three-mile Test Race.—N. Hall, scratch, 1;J. E. Fenlon, scratch, 2; A. C. Wilmott, 38yds, 3 ; H. Soanes, 40yds, 4 ; E. Mayes, 28yds 5. A magnificent race. Suckling and McKay led the field for a considerable time at a merry pace. The others gradually drew up, and in the last two laps Fenlon, Hall, and Soanes were in close company. The last lap saw Hall and Fenlon sprint away from the others, and all round the course the struggle was maintained. Mayes made great efforts to get up, but died away before the straight was reached. Hall won by a couple of lengths; Fenlon sitting up abont a dozen yards from home ; Wilmott" was 20 yards away, third ; Soanes close up. Time, 9min 3 sth sec. Old record, 9min 15 2 sth seo.

The points for the prizes are as follow : Hall, 21 ; Fenlon, 13 ; Wilmott, 11 ; Soanes, 5 ; Mayes, 4 ; Wilson, 3. Five Mile Championship of Nbw Zealand. —N. Hall (Pioneer), 1; A. C. Wilmott (Rangiora), 2 ; H. A. Soaneß (Christchurch), 3. Wilsou, Curtis, Hounsell, Hargreaves, and Ste6dman also ran a rather uninteresting race. Wilson took up the running, followed by Soanes, Hall, and Wiimott, the others in a string behind. This order was maintained till the last lap, when Hall shot out and won by a dozen yards. A splendid finish for second place resulted in Wilmott beating Soanes by half a length. The latter was lees than a length in front of Hayward, who just beat Steadman. Time, 15min 43 2-sth sec. Two Mile Safety Handicap.—J. Martin (Pioneer). 1; A. Fraser (Pioneer), 2; D. Scoullar (Dunedin), 3. Won easily. Time, 6min 30 2-sth sec.

Visitors’Haudicap ; two miles.—R. Steadman (Dunedin), 1 ; C. E. Hall (Timaru), 2 ; E. A. Hounsell (Nelson), 3. Curtis (Nelson), Fyfe (Tirnarn), Hooper (Dunedin), McDonald (Timaru), Paterson (Invercargill), Bennetts (Ashburton) also started. Won easily by 15yds; 25yds between second and third.
