NEW ZEALAND AND SOUTH SEAS EXHIBITION.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND MAIL. S lßj __As already expressed in a letter to the Invercargill newspaper during my late visit South, very few realise the extensive nature of the Exhibition which is now being raised in Dunedin, and. which is to be thrown open to visitors on the 26th November next. I had tho pleasure of. being taken over tho erection by Mr Jules Joubert, the general manager, and all will agree that he should, know something' of the work he ha 3 in hand, as it is his 39 th show, and I believe all his previous efforts have been carried to a. very successful issue. Mr John Roberts, of the firm of Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., is tho president, and with such experienced showmen as Mr R. E. N. Twopeny and Mr Jules Joubert, and a host of other well-known gentlemen, every encouragement is given to exhibitors to place something of real merit in the respective spaces taken. Something like nine out of the twelve acres of ground will be under roof, and thi3, I am told, is only threo acres short of the roofage of the late Centennial Exhibition held in Melbourne. Victoria and New South Wales are to the fore, and it remains with this Colony and the people to use their very best endeavours to advance New Zealand.—l am, &c., Charles Callis.
