The btar ol Victoria is 3240 tons register, and the Star ot England 3450 tons. Both are quite new boats, with triple expansion engines. -they will not compete for passenger trade, being intended only for cargo. '-P*} carr y 1000 tons of frozen meat; and 4000 bales ot wool. . . ' The exports from Hawkes Bay tni.? J ear will exceed 1,000,000 sterling, showing ttn increase of over 30 per cent on last year’s returns. The chief increases are in wool, frozen meat and timber.
