DROWNING OF A WELLKNOWN FOOTBALLER.

Sydney. August 15
Seddon, tho captain of tho English football team, was drowned in the Hunter River, at Maitland, tins afternoon. He had gone out rowing in an outrigger which capsized with him, and before any assistance could bo rendered, he sank. In consequence of his death the match arranged to take place to-morro,? between the English team and the Northern Districts has been postponed.
