(united press association.) Auckland, February 5.
Advices from Samoa state that the action, by P. Cornwall and Manaema to recover £60,000 from William McArthur and Co., has commenced. King Malietoa has given his sanction to Manaema suing in the case. It is arranged that the action shall be heard in May next, before the High Commissioners at the Court of ’Samoa. There is news from Honolulu of another volcanic outbreak there.
The auxiliary , screw steamer Explorer, which is well-known in Auckland, has been sold to King Kalakaua, of the Sandwich Islands, -by Ellis Arundel. She is to be fitted! out as a man-of-war for the king’s use.
