DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES.

MOUNT COOK SCHOOL.

The annual distribution of prizes in connection with the above school took place yesterday morning, the presentation to the boys taking place in the morning and the girls in the afternoon. Mr Allen, Chairman of the School Committee, occupied the chair. Before the presentation the boys sang several glees, under the conductorship of Mr W. H, Jackson, after which Mr A. W. Brown addressed them. He congratulated the children on the proficiency they had gained during the past year, the percentage pf marks being exceedingly good. He referred to the success which an old Mount Cook boy had gained at the College during the past year, and he expressed a wish that they would endeavor to follow his example. Mr Allen complimented the boys and teachers on the marked improvement in the attendance during the past term, and congratnlated them on their good conduct of the school, not a single complaint having been made to the Committee during the whole of the past year. He hoped they would oontinue to conduct themselves in such a well-behaved manner. The principal (Mr Hardy) also addressed the boys. Mr A. W.
