Fair supplies of fruit and ■other spring produce has reached the market this week, and for plums, apricots, oranges, lemons, mandarins, pines, gooseberries, and strawberries a brisk demand existed and full values were realised. Unfortunately, Sydney consignements, ex Tekapo, arrived in bad order. Hobart French crabs ruled from 13s, and stermer pippins 15s 6d downward. New potatoes, in consequence of heavy supplies, have lowered to L 7 and L 7 10s per ton ; green peas are neglected at the average price of 5d per peck; eggs, firm, at lOd per doz. .Expected arrivals of bananas and other Fiji fruit on Monday should sell at top prices. Poultry is in request at last quoted rates.

The returns irom the Fiery Cross are not yet in. Laery and Campbell report prices as follow Apples, 10s to 15s; oranges, 7s bd to 10s ; mandarines, 12s ; lemons, 10s. A large consignment of pines, cocoanuts, and peanuts arrived from Fiji on Monday, and sold readily at 5s and 11s respectively. We were unfortunate with bananas, our consignment being shut out, hence the advance in price on the few that came to Wellington. We expect supplies of plums, apples and pears, by the Melbourne boat, Waihora. due on Friday. Wheat, maize, oats and hatley, remain at last quotations, and sales are for only hand-to-mouth lots; the same remarks apply to bran and pollard. Old potatoes are “done,” and the new crop is coming ir. freely and realising from 4s 6d to 7s per cwt.; onions are scarce at Lll; eggs, It'd, fresh and salt butter, with a glutted market; unquotable. . .
