LAWN TENNIS.

A meeting of lawn tennis delegates was held to-day, when a letter was read from Hawkes Bay containing a proposal that a 50 guinea cup be subscribed for by the different Tennis Associations iu New Zealand, to be competed for the single championship of New Zealand, the cup to be held by the winner for one year, and to be tbe absolute - property of any one winning it three times. ’ The Secretary was instructed to write to Hawkes Bay accepting the proposal of the . Association to join in presenting a cup for competition, but suggesting that the value of the eup be reduced-to £25, and that a J trophy of the value of £lO be given each year to the winner.
