THE OPENING OF THE MANAWATU RAILWAY.
(united press association.) Palmers ion North, November 2.
A public meeting was held last evening to consider the question of celebrating the opening of the V’cllington and iManawatu Kailway Company’s line on the 15th inst. It was agreed, after discussion, to hold a demonstration on the occasion, but the form it will take was not decided upoD, though it was thought desirable generally that it should be in the shape of a bauquet in Palmerston to the Directors of the Company. A meeting to consider details will be held on Thursday evening.
