The TJ.S.S. Co’s ss Hauroto left. Melbourne at 4 20 pm on the 6th, and arrived at the Bluff at 7 am ou the 11th; called at Port Chalmers, and left Lyttelton at 9.30 on the 14th, inst., and arrived here at 11.30 last Friday morning. She experienced moderate westerly winds with fine weather between Melbourne and the Bluff, and moderate weather for the rest of the passage. She sailed for Sydney, via Auckland and East Coast ports, at 5 pm. The TJ.S.S. Co.’s ss Tekapo, left Lyttelton at 6.30 pm on Saturday, and arrived here at 11 am on Sunday. She sailed for Sydney next day. . _ , The TJ.S.S. Co.’s ss Rotomahana left Sydney at 5.30 pm on the Bth, and reached Auckland at 6.30 am on the 13th, left at noon on the

14th, called at Poverty Bay on the 15th, and Napier on the 16th, and arrived here at noon on Sunday. She experienced light N E winds down the coast to Auckland, and strong southerly wind with head sea from East Cape to Cape Palliser, thence moderate wind. and sea to arrival.' She sailed for Melbourne • via Southern ports, on Monday afternoon. The TJ.S.S. Co’s ss Mahinapua arrived from Westport at 7.30 last Sunday night. She left Westport at noon on Saturday, and had strong head winds from Cape Farewell till arrival. She sailed for Southern ports about 11 pm with the Southern portion of the San Francisco mail. . , , . - The TJ.S.S. Co’s ss Hawea arrived here at 9 o’clock last Sunday night. Left Onehunga at 11.15 am on Saturday with the San Franeisco mail, crossed the bar at 0.40 pm, and arrived at Taranaki at 11 pm ; sailed again an hour later and arrived as above. She experienced moderate SE winds from Onehunga to Taranaki, thence strong SE gale and heavy sea to arrival. The Hawea left on her return to Onehunga on Monday. The ss Wallabi left Greymouth at 9 pm on the 13th, and arrived at Westport 10 am next day; left again at 9.30 pm for Wellington, but had to put into Pelorous Sound on account of bad weather ; left the Sound at 11 am on Monday, and arrived here at 6 o’clock same night. The ship 3 Pleione, Hurunui, and Invercargill were loading at London, for Wellington, on the 10th September. The ss Stormbird has been on the Slip this week for cleaning, etc. The TJ.S.S. Co’s steamers Tekapo, for Sydney, and Rotomahana, for Melbourne, and Penguin, for Picton and Nelson, sailed on Monday afternoon. The Tekapo had on board for •Sydney, from Southern ports, about 1500 tons colonial produce, and 12 horses. She took in about 70 tons cargo at this port. . Masters of vessels entering the harbor are therefore cautioned not to run too long on these beacons after passing the South Tiphead, bat to haul up along the south training-wall.
