The customs duties collected at the port of Wellington for the week ending on Saturday amounted to L 4184 2s 6d. Beer duty, L 47 9s 7d.

Messrs George'Thomas and Co. report produce prices this week as follows : —Complaints of dullness of trade are rife in all quarters, and business in all produce is limited, for various reasons. There is a prevalent doubt as to whether the prssent high market values for staple articles are of a permanent character, and consequently stocks are only lightly held, transactions being quite of a hand-to-mouth nature. Usual shipments of apples from Hobartcame to a bare market, and are selling at full prices—8s for cooking and 10s for samples ; other descriptions of fruit are inquired for at reduced prices. We report a plentiful supply of fowls and turkeys, which have moved off at 2s 9d and 8s per pair respectively. Ducks and geese are inquired for at 3s 6d and 6s 6d per pair.
