LAND BOARD.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Land Board was held in the Crown Lands Office yesterday morning. There were present— Messrs JET. Bunny (in the chair), G. Bestbam, M.H.R., W. W. McCardle, W. A. Fhzherbert, A. Reese, The schedule of lands showed that 11 acres 26 perches had been sold Bince last meeting at an upset price of £2 16?. Mr A. Anderson, selector of section 27, Block VI., Mangaone, applied to pay off balance and get title. The Board decided to allow applicant to capitalise if required. An application was received from Mr D. Greig for section 27, Kahutara. It was resolved to offer it at first opportunity. A letter wa3 received from the Undersecretary for Crown Linds, stating that the Railway Department objected to the small sections at Cross’s Creek being Bold, as the emplojdi on the sections might have to be removed. It was moved by Mr Beetham, seconded by Mr McCardle, that Government be referred to tbe valuation as estimated by Ranger, and recommend that the occupants be reimbursed their outlay. Carried. The Under-Secretary for Crown Lands notified the approval of Government to subdivision of small run No. 31 into two parts. Resolved, that necessary action be taken. Tbe Pahiatua Road Board submitted proposals for expenditure of deferred-payment and perpetual lease thirds which have accrued to them. Approved of. The Ranger’s report for tbe present year was received, and it was reresolved to write to the selectors in arrear calling for an explanation. The Commissioner reported that an error had been made in reporting improvements as having been fulfilled on section 90, block 2, Kopuaranga, and it was resolved to allow transfer to tak6 place. The Commissioner submitted lists of sections of land, near Wellington, suitable for village special settlements. To stand over. It was moved by Mr Beetham that the Government be recommended to provide the necessary funds to enable a survey office being opened at Pahiatua. Seconded by Mr Fitzberbert, and carried. Messrs Macquarie Bros, applied for piece of Crown lands for a fencing boundary near Alfredtou. Surveyor’s report to be furnished. The meeting then terminated. .
