SUICIDE IN AUCKLAND.

(united press association.) Auckland, August 2.

Mr Richard Moore, a retired merchant, who was nearly 70 years of age, was found dead in his house at the North Shore yesterday morning sitting on a chair with a gun between his knees. Apparently the gun had been fired into his month, as a large wound was in the back of the neck, but, strange to gay, the weapon was still at full cock. Mr Moore’s housekeeper states that she heard a shot fired, and on going up to the room found Mr Moore sitting with tbe gun and gave the alarm. The deceased had been in low spirits for some time past. Four years ago he shot himself with a pistol, inflicting two wounds, but he recovered that attempt on his life.
