THE NEW HEBRIDES.
By Eleotbio Telegraph.—Copyright, (beuter’s telegrams.) Pabis, July 26. The Official Journal to-day, in an article on the New Hebrides question,, states that the occupation of the group by Prance is only temporary, and is solely for the protection of French colonists. It adds that the English and French Governments are now engaged in studying the modus vivendi, with a view to taking joint steps for the maintenance of order in the Islands. London, July 27. ? It is announced that active parleying is now proceeding between the English and French Governments for the withdrawal of the latter’B troops from the New Hebrides. (special to united press association) London, July 27. The Earl of Roseberry has informed M. Waddington, French Ambassador in London, that his Government will not consent to any departure from the existing understanding concerning the New Hebrides.
