The Customs duties collected at the port of Wellington for the week ending on Saturday amounted to L 3217 4s. Beer duty, L6O 16s 6d. Messrs George Thomas and Co. report produce prices for this week as follows: — Business has again been considerably interfered with by the boisterous weather, and. there is little or no change to note. Flour is still ruling at LlO to LU, with an upward tendency. Fowls’ wheat at 3s Bd, and pollard L 6 10s, is almost unobtainable, the markets in the South being completely cleared out for Sydney consumption. Bran remains firm at I.G. Oats are anticipated to shortly advance, and present values are only temporary. We quote good feed at 2s 4d to 2s 5d per bushel ; oatmeal, Ll2 19s to [LI2 15s; oaten chaff, L 3 15s to L 4 10s per ton. Prime Derwent potatoes are saleable, but so many inferior sorts are now offering from 50s upwards that any quotation under L 3 5s may be safely said to be for second-class samples. Good onions are asked for at L 8 10s per ton. Beans remain as last quoted, 3s Gd, and the same remarks apply to peas, 4s Gd ; maize, 4s 2d; carrots, 45s ; feed barley, 2s Sd; pearl barley, Ll 7 ; black oats, 2s lOd ; cheese, 6kl; honey, 4d to 6d ; hops, Gd ; salt butter, 9d - to lOd ; fresh, Is ; hams and bacon. 8d ; eggs, 2s 3d per dozen. Supplies of poultry are ample, and fowls are hard to move at 3s ; turkeys, 9s; geese, 6s ; ducks, 3s 6d per pair. The fruit market is well supplied with oranges and other Sydney fruit, which, however,. does not find favor in consequence of the unripe and irregular condition of each shipment. Apples and pears are likely to be scarce through the usual anticipated arrivals from Hobart not having come to hand. The market, however, has been overstocked for some time., and a slight cessation of consignments will in the end be pioductive of good results.
