The Turakina races took place yesterday. It was beautiful weather, and there was a fair attendance. The following are the results : Handicap Hurdles.—Abolition, lOst 31b, 1 ; Tupupaku, lOst, 2 ; Mata (late Aroha), lOst, 3 ; three others started. Maiden Plate, of 35 sovs., one and a quarter miles.—Matu, 1 ; Port Wine, 2 ; Tamouri, 3. Eight started. Time : 2min. 21sec. Turakina Handicap, of 80 sovs., two miles and a distance.—Robinson's Banshee, 1 ; J. George's Confidante, 2 ; J. George's Resolution, 3 ; five started. It was a splendid race, and won by half a length. Time: 4 min. Scurry Race, of 20 sovs.— Randwick, 1 ; Soukar, 2. District Race, of 30 sovs.—Abolition, 1. Consolation Stakes.—Soukar, 1. Napier, March 4.
