Among the patents lately issued in America is one covering an alleged specific remedy for small-pox, the said specific being composed of saltpetre, camphor, and charcoal. The Kaiapoi Boating Club are about to sell their four-oared gig Peri and the Blue Bell, a two-oared boat. The affairs of the club are to be wound up.
