AUCKLAND EXCHANGE MARKET QUIET AND STEADY Turnover was moderate and values were steady on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. Buyers continued to bid freely for Bank of New Zealand shares, which sold at 45s 9d, compared with 45s 3d and 45s 6d the previous day. There was a good demand for Government stocks, and the Ist Liberty Loans 2i per cent showed *a slight rise. Mount Morgan shares changed hands 3d lower at 7s, tlie lowest price since March last, and Whakatane Paper Mills sold Is lower at 5s 3d.

CLAUDE NEON LIGHTS The accounts of Claude Neon Lights of New Zealand for tho year ended September 30 show a not profit of £5063, compared with £2015 last year and £1025 in 1942. With £14,800 brought in there was a credit of £20,529, from which £15,000 wa« appropriated for writing down patent rights and processes, leaving: £5529 available. Tho directors, as previously announced, propose to reinstate the dividend of 5 per cent, which was last piid in 1040 This requires £4218, leaving £.1311 to be carried forward. Gtors revenue from trading was £53,757, against £37,751 last year, and taxation provision is £13,579. compared with £2319. In the report the chairman, Mr V. .T. Lamer, said business had shown a marked improvement owing to the lifting of the blackout and power restrictions in the South Island. In the North Island, owing to power shortage, signs had been absolutely prohibited. Almost 90 per cent of lessees had carried out their contracts by resuming monthly payments as from January 1. 1014. The retiring directors, Messrs James Fletcher and A. fl Lnnn. are nominated for re-election.

MOSGIEL WOOLLEN COMPANY (0.C.) DUNEDIN, Wednesday

At the annual meeting of the Mosgiel Woollen Factory Company, Limited, the directors, as already announced, recommended a final dividend of 3 per cent from trading and 3 per cent, from rovenno from investments. making a total distribution of 10 per rent for the year. The chairman. Mr J. S. Hislop. said a gross profit of £92.730 had been made, against £01,398 for 1913. Net nrofits were £15,033 and €13,R10 respectively. Owing to shortage of labour the company had not been able to run a complete douhlc shift at the mill as it was prepared to do.
