WIN FOE RICHMOND MANUKAU BEATEN AGAIN A crowd estimated at 15,000 witnessed n splendid display of League football at Carlaw Park on Saturday, when Richmond defeated Manukau in a special match arranged by the Auckland Rugby Leaguo in connection with chairman's day. Manukau had alreadv won the senior championship, and this was Richmond's second victory over the champion side. Richmond settled down to make the game open against Manukau. Winning the ball from most of the set scrums, the Richmond backs showed speed and resource on attack. A brilliant try by McGregor early in the game was applauded for somo minutes. The youthful Richmond centre showed a fine burst of speed in running ritrht round the defenders. Excellent tackling was a feature of the game Seven minutes before the final bell, tho Richmond backs attacked. Williams smartly sent the ball on to Davis, Seymour and McGregor, who swerved past Taumata. and weaved his way through the defence to score a beautiful try. Manukau rose to the occasion well, and in an exciting five minutes gave Richmond a torrid time. The defence, however, held, and the honours were definitely with Richmond. The outstanding player was McGregor, who gave a high-class display at centre.
