pEBAL fox wins the cup Surprise victories by Elise and Hinkj er were features of the Avondale Jockey Club's Spring Meeting at Ellersiie on Saturday, Elise paying around a third of a century and Hink]er a quarter of a century. Regal Fox staged a return to form in winning the Avondale Cup and the speedy Beau Yaals made a successful reappearance - t h e Flving Handicap. KING'S FILLY WINS SUN CHARIOT IN ST. LEGER LONDON, Sept. 12 The crowd cheered deafeningly when Sun Chariot easily defeated the favourite, Watling Street, in the St. Leger Stakes at. Newmarket. achieving a remarkable record for the Royal colours, which never previously had won four classic races in one season. •Sun Chariot is owned by His Majesty the Kin?. Earlier in the season she won the One Thousand Guineas and the Oaks. His Majesty's other classic winner this season was Bis Game, who won Jhe Two Thousand Guineas.
