REPBESENTATIVE GAME AUCKLAND'S EASY WIN The largest crowd of the season witnessed superior teamwork by the Auckland Rugby League representatives, who easily defeated South Auckland at Carlaw Park on Saturday by 40 points to 16. The game, which was very even until early in the second spell, when Auckland threw the ball about and bewildered the visitors with unorthodox football. ■ The scores were equal 15 minutes after the interval, but the visitors were tiring fast, and tries for Auckland came in rapid succession. A feature of the game was the scoring done by T. Chase, the Auckland captain, who converted eight tries and scored one—a total of 19 points. Murray, who played a splendid game at five-eighths, got 12 points from four tries. In his first representative game, the 38-year-old R. McGregor did some fine work at centre, and is a promising back. Both the wings, Butler and Haisey, were in good form, and Williams, halfback, gave good service from the scrum. Davis, Rinnui, Thompson and Johnson played well among the forwards. The score at half-time was 16 points to 4 in Auckland's favour. Tries for Auckland were scored by Murray (4), Thompson (2), Chase, McGregor, Haisey, Davis and Shilton, Chase converting eight. South Auckland's tries were scored by O. Brooks and Connolly, Brooks converting two and kicking a penalty goal. Moyes kicked two penalty goals.
