EDUCATING SOLDIERS
TECHNICAL SCHOOL CLASSES ADMITTANCE WITHOUT FEES (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday Approval has been given by the Education Department for members -of Territorial and other defence forces to be enrolled at technical schools or classes, wherever such classes meet their requirements. It has been decided that any soldiers thus admitted are to be regarded as paying pupils with fees remitted, whether or not they are entitled in the ordinary way to hold free places. This decision, of which the Taranaki Education Board was advised to-day, places soldiers in the same position as members of the air cadet training scheme, for whom similar arrangements ivere approved in November, 1941.
